Roll-off dumpsters in three sizes lined up for delivery in Jackson, Michigan

Side by side

Size Dimensions Weight included Holds about Best for
10 Yard Dumpster 12' L x 8' W x 3.5' H 1 ton (2,000 lbs) 3 pickup loads Small cleanouts, bathroom remodels, garage cleanouts
15 Yard Dumpster 14' L x 8' W x 4.5' H 1.5 tons (3,000 lbs) 5 pickup loads Kitchen remodels, flooring removal, medium cleanouts
20 Yard Dumpster 14' L x 8' W x 5.5' H 2 tons (4,000 lbs) 6 pickup loads Roofing jobs, whole-house cleanouts, construction debris

All three are 8 feet wide. The 15 and the 20 share a footprint at 14 feet long, so the 20 only costs you height, not driveway.

Picking by the job

Match the container to what you are doing, not to how big the pile looks in the garage.

  • 10 One-car garage, a single room to the studs, a bathroom tear-out, a shed coming down. 10 yard details
  • 15 Two-car garage, kitchen gut, a full floor of carpet and trim, a flooded basement. 15 yard details
  • 20 Roof tear-off, whole-house cleanout, construction debris, storm damage. 20 yard details

Why we stop at 20

Thirty and forty yard containers are real and they have a real purpose. They are built for commercial demolition and large-scale construction, where a site has the room to place one and the access for a much longer truck to set it down.

A residential driveway rarely has either. For the work we actually get called for in Jackson County, a 20 yard is the ceiling that makes sense, and running a size we could not reliably deliver would not do anyone a favor.

If your project genuinely needs a 30 or 40, tell us. We would rather point you to someone who runs them than sell you two 20s.

Worth knowing locally

Weight decides more often than size does

Every size carries a weight allowance, and on a lot of Jackson County jobs that is what runs out first. Older housing across the city and the urban-area townships means plaster rather than drywall, and plaster is dense.

Same story with a roof. A 20 yard filled with shingles hits two tons long before it looks full. So when you call, tell us what the debris is as well as how much of it there is. That is the part that decides the size.

Why we quote instead of posting a price

Dumpster rental has no single flat number. Four things move it, and two of them depend on your address and your project.

Tell us what you're working on and we'll give you the real figure, with delivery, pickup and disposal already in it.

1
Container size

A 10 yard costs less than a 20. Picking the right size is usually the biggest single lever on your total.

2
How long you keep it

3 day and 7 day options are priced differently.

3
Where it's going

Your delivery address inside the 50 mile service radius affects the quote.

4
What's in it

Each size includes a set weight. Go past it and the extra weight is billed on top.

Size questions

Before you book

What dumpster sizes do you have in Jackson?

Ten, fifteen and twenty yard roll-off containers. All three are 8 feet wide. The 10 is 12 feet long, the 15 and 20 are both 14 feet long, with the 20 standing a foot taller.

Do you have 30 or 40 yard dumpsters?

No. We stop at 20 yard. Thirty and forty yard containers exist for commercial demolition and large-scale construction, and they need the space and access a job site has and a driveway usually does not. For residential work in Jackson County the 20 covers it.

What size dumpster do I need?

Match it to the job, not to the pile. A one-car garage or single room is a 10. A two-car garage, kitchen gut or full floor of flooring is a 15. A roof tear-off or whole-house cleanout is a 20. If you are between two, the larger one usually costs less than a second haul.

Does a bigger dumpster take up more driveway?

Not always. The 15 and 20 have the same footprint, 14 feet by 8 feet. The 20 is simply taller. So if driveway length is your constraint, stepping from a 15 to a 20 costs you nothing in space.

Once you have the size, the rental cost page explains what moves the number.
